The Charities

As a team we feel strongly that as we race together then we would like to put something back into the sport and to also help promote worthy causes that we have an affinity to.

This thinking is the reason why during 2016 we will be supporting two very worthwhile causes.

THE BENJAMIN GAUTREY FOUNDATION

The vision of ‘The Foundation’ is to support Young Riders’ who take the same route into Racing that Ben did. ‘The Foundation’ will support Sport from grass root level and will promote the Sports in which Ben was so passionate about .

THE LEWIS BALYCKYI TRUST FUND

Lewis was every parents dream, from an early age he showed the potential of becoming a National and International Athlete.

From the age of 8 Lewis lived for his cycling and showed enormous potential moving up through the British Cycling rankings. Lewis won many races and was U16 National Circuit Champion. He was also chosen to ride for Great Britain with the British Cycling Talent Team where he won a respectable 3rd place, 1st and 2nd were won by 2 of his team competing against the best Juniors in Europe.

Lewis started his racing for a local team named “Ribble Valley Juniors”, based at the UCLAN Preston Sports Arena. Lewis stayed with the Ribble Valley club until the age of 16, at which point local bike shop owner, Martin Wallis,  offered him a place on the prestigious amateur racing team named “Team Wallis

Lewis was a founding member and helped bring great success to the team; getting ranked top team by British Cycling in the North West in their first year and all the Junior riders ranked in the top 10 in the country. Lewis’s dream was to race abroad and applied to the John Ibbotson Fund who sponsor young riders to race with a semi-professional team for a season. After the initial application and interview Lewis was accepted onto the Fund, he was going to get paid to ride his bike just like his hero’s did, he couldn’t have been happier.

He was due to move to France at the end of January 2011 to live his dream but while out on a training ride on 18th January 2011 Lewis was hit by an overtaking van and killed instantly.

We want to keep Lewis dream alive and help other aspiring cyclists to fulfill their dream and potential.

We intend to do this by raising funds with the help of the many kind hearted people, who like us, miss Lewis terribly.
