Last Sunday, Cory represented the Inspire VCUK Racing Team at the Rapha Super Cross, crossing the border into Yorkshire to the fantastic venue of Shibden Hall in Halifax.
The venue offered a very tough hilly course with technical sections. The weather started damp and foggy leaving the ground a little muddy from the previous day’s racing but the rain held off, just!
Cowbells, music and cheer was all you could hear as these 5 riders fought it out while negotiating the slippery off-camber slopes.
As the race progressed Jenson was able forge a good lead with Charlie and Matthew fighting for 2nd and 3rd positions. Matthew eventually caught Jenson and was looking strong.
A mechanical forced a change of bike for Matthew as he passed the pits allowing Jenson to get away once again, followed by Charlie.
Euan meanwhile was having his own problems requiring a short run to the pits which enabled Cory to move into 4th position.
Euan then pursued Cory who later suffered a chain issue allowing Euan the opportunity to close the gap but Cory was too determined to maintain his lead and sprinted up the hill to open out the gap once again.
Cory was very pleased to take 4th place ahead of former national champion Euan with Jenson, Matthew and Charlie in 1st, 2nd and 3rd places respectively.
